Stone lamps in luxury interior

An Exclusive Proposal for RH

Light & Stone

This collection is a celebration of stone — a material full of character, deeply rooted in place, and too often overlooked. The idea at its heart is simple: something ancient and grounded can still feel modern, organic, and even playful.

The Vision

Created by Nature.
Refined by Hand

Each piece starts as a raw piece of stone — sourced from quarries where time has already done the hard work. Our job is simply to reveal what the stone already knows. Where to shine a light, cast a shadow or leave untouched.

Stone texture detail

"Inside every piece of stone is millions of years of history — it is the craftsman's responsibility to honour that story."

01 — Monolith Lamps

Standing Tall

Carved from natural stone, each lamp draws on organic shapes and some of the oldest design principles — rooted in the natural world, but shaped into something entirely their own.

Monolith I

01

Monolith I

Deeply fluted column with clear glass globe and filament bulb. Pronounced vertical channels create dramatic shadow play, celebrating the sculptural potential of hand-carved stone.

Monolith II

02

Monolith II

Organic root-like base with clear glass globe and exposed filament bulb. The smooth tapered column rises from splayed stone feet, evoking ancient tree forms.

Monolith III

03

Monolith III

Fluted stone base with frosted glass globe and twisted fabric cable. The ribbed mid-section creates a dialogue between precision carving and organic forms.

Monolith IV

04

Monolith IV

Polished marble with fluted bronze-veined mid-section and splayed root base. The dark stone's dramatic white veining is picked up in the warm frosted globe.

02 — Table Lamps

Closer to Hand

Scaled for the bedside, the desk, the console — these lamps bring the same honesty of material to smaller, more personal spaces.

04 — Exploring Form & Material

Beyond the
Collection

Stone tells a different story depending on how you treat it. These concepts explore that tension — where a polished surface meets a rough natural edge.

06

The Craft

From Quarry
to Collection

Every piece in the collection begins with a deliberate and patient search for the right stone. Given the scale of some of these objects, the use of "unwanted" and "rejected" stone is key to the selection process. Recycling such a noble material is not an afterthought — it is central to how these pieces are brought to life.

Where brass or other materials are introduced, they are chosen to complement the stone, creating natural alliances that stand the test of time. Over the months and years that follow, each piece will subtly transform — becoming something even more unique and personal.

The Partnership

A Natural Fit
for RH

The Marcus Baron Stone Collection shares RH's foundational values: a reverence for natural materials, a commitment to artisan craft, and a belief that the most beautiful objects are those shaped by time.

01

Material Authenticity

Like RH's commitment to genuine materials, every piece uses unprocessed natural stone — no composites, no veneers, no artificial treatments.

02

Timeless Design

These are not trend-driven objects. They are designed to age gracefully, developing character over decades — aligning with RH's philosophy of enduring design.

03

Artisan Craft

Each piece is hand-carved by skilled artisans, ensuring the individuality and quality that RH customers expect from their most treasured possessions.

04

Scalable Production

While each piece is unique, the vision is to build the quarry partnerships and workshop capacity to support the volume requirements of a global retail partnership.
